This page  lists specific webpages and tools available from the EPA website, not included in the class handout.

  • Click the "Search" button to look for information on your topic.
    • You'll need to be specific: try "cement emissions",not just "cement".
  • Use the Advanced search for more specific results.
  • Note: use Browse All Online Publications to see a list of all reports from various programs like Water, Air, Research and Development
  • National Environmental Publication Information System: Search over 10,000 full text EPA documents including documents from late 1980's and early 1990's.
C H I E F:
  • ClearingHouse for Inventories and Emission Factors
  • Provides emissions data for specific industries arranged by SIC code.
  • Select "Reports and Maps", then "Geographic Area", and then select the radio button for United States. Under Criteria Air Pollutants, click on Facility SIC. Highlight all selections in the list of emissions, and highlight all dates provided in the date list.

 

Office of Prevention Pesticides and Toxic Substances (OPPTS)

  • This office regulates pesticides and chemicals, and promotes pollution prevention programs

 

  • Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards. Find air quality, air toxics sites, and emissions information.
 

Effluent Guidelines

  • From the site: "Effluent guidelines are national standards for wastewater discharges to surface waters and publicly owned treatment works (municipal sewage treatment plants)."
