A keyword search is probably the best way to get started. Once you find some titles that are useful, click on the Library of Congress Subject headings for a more refined search. Try searching the following broad subject headings in Cruzcat:

Finding Images at UCSC
The Library's Visual Resources department is located on the ground floor of McHenry. All of the staff members are very helpful and willing to share their expertise with you. They have prepared an excellent guide for finding digital images.
