Government and Industry partnerships

Industrial Technologies Program. (C.3 in product folders) describes industry plans, goals, energy and environmental profiles. Products covered: Aluminum, Glass, Petroleum, Steel, Paper and Pulp (see Forest Products), and Plastics and Fertilizers (see Chemicals). http://www1.eere.energy.gov/industry/program_areas/index.html From the menubar at top of page, select the following:

•    Program Areas: Includes Vision2020 and Roadmap reports for each product.

•    R&D Portfolio: Look at active and completed innovative projects for each product.

 

Develop ideas using articles and case studies

Use Article Databases:

Start at the library’s research page, http://library.ucsc.edu/research.html.  To connect from off-campus use Off Campus Access (OCA)

Type the name of the database in the Fast Find box and click search:

 

  • Web of Science: Find scholarly articles across disciplines.  Cited Reference Search finds articles that cite an author or article you specify.
  • Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management: Citations and abstracts of articles and reports on the following topics: agricultural biotechnology, air quality, bacteriology, environmental impact statements, safety science, waste management, toxicology, pollution, and environmental science.
  • Ebsco Business Source Complete: Includes articles about natural resources, environmental impact, industrial wastes, pollution, pollution regulation, pollution-control costs, government programs, tax relief, and recycling, fuel switching.
  • Academic Search Complete from Ebsco: Find general information about environmental aspects of an industry or product.  Includes articles about recycling, environmental policy, pollution and pollution control, fuel switching.

 

Find the full text of articles using UC-eLinks

 

       For items with Abstracts and Citations only, use the UC-eLinks options to: 

  • Connect to the full text of the article. This link is present when the article is available in another Article Database     
  • Find out if UCSC subscribes to the journal; if so, provides the call number; also shows more online full-text options 
  • Fill out form to order a copy of the article from another campus – It will be sent electronically in about two working days. (Note: This service only available if UCSC does not subscribe to the journal; otherwise you need to find the journal at UCSC)
